| RS30 series The world’s first four-shaft shredder is part of UNTHA’s RS30 series. With this series, the four-shaft shredder and perforated screen invented and patented (patent number 319535) by Anton Unterwurzacher were incorporated into an industrially produced machine for the first time. Over the last 25 years the series has been continuously developed and improved and offers highly sophisticated technology.
The four-shaft shredders in this series can be supplied with three different driving powers and have been a favorite among our customers for many years. The numerous cutter and screen variants, which can be individually combined to suit your requirements, allow the shredder to be used for a wide range of applications, which is why this shredder was also originally known as the "universal shredder".

| RS45 and RS50 series The design for the RS45 and RS50 series is derived from the logic of the world’s first industrially produced four-shaft shredder, the RS30. Like the RS30, the RS45 and RS50 versions use the shredder design of the patented UNTHA four-shaft system with perforated screen (patent number 319535). Both series are ideal for multi-shift continuous working and particularly difficult operating conditions |
| S120 series The S120 series has been developed for particularly heavy industrial use. These two-shaft shredders are also known as rotary shears and are suitable in particular for shredding metals and tires. A four-shaft shredder is often used down-stream in a second shredding process to reduce granule size even further, and particularly high through-put rates can be achieved using this combination. Even with low speeds and very high torque the machines are capable of shredding heavy gauge metals. If you need to process very bulky or awkwardly shaped metal objects, a compression feeder will help to ensure the required through-put.
Some typical applications
Al-Mg feeders
Paper edge strips
Al-Mg housings
Paper sheets
Aluminium sections
Rolls of paper
Car tires
Tractor tires
Electronic scrap
Truck tires
Metal drums

| UNTHA four-shaft shredders After being rapidly drawn in to the cutting system, the input materials are coarse and fine-shredded in a single operation. If parts do not immediately fall through the perforated screen, they are picked up by the teeth of the main cutter and transported up again (coarse-shredding). When this material is picked up by the secondary cutter, an additional cutting process (fine-shredding) takes place. The end product is a precisely definded, homogeneous granule. |
| UNTHA single-shaft shredders During the shredding process, the hydraulic swing-pusher in-feed system forces the material against the rotor carrying the exchangeable, reversible cutting blades, which shreds the material against the cutting bars. The shredded material then falls through the perforated screen. The diameter of the perforations defines the granule size. |
| UNTHA two-shaft shredders The cutting discs are arranged in such a way that a cutting disc on one shaft is positioned between two cutting discs on the opposite shaft. As a result, the material is shredded both lengthways and crossways. The size of the fraction produced is determined by the width of the cutting discs and the number of teeth. | |
