International Energy Agency
The International Energy Agency (IEA) is an intergovernmental organisation which acts as energy policy advisor to 28 member countries in their effort to ensure reliable, affordable and clean energy for their citizens. Founded during the oil crisis of 1973-74, the IEA’s initial role was to co-ordinate measures in times of oil supply emergencies. As energy markets have changed, so has the IEA. Its mandate has broadened to incorporate the “Three E’s” of balanced energy policy making: energy security, economic development and environmental protection. Current work focuses on climate change policies, market reform, energy technology collaboration and outreach to the rest of the world, especially major consumers and producers of energy like China, India, Russia and the OPEC countries.

With a staff of around 190, mainly energy experts and statisticians from its 28 member countries, the IEA conducts a broad programme of energy research, data compilation, publications and public dissemination of the latest energy policy analysis and recommendations on good practices.

Biogas Transfer in Estuaries (BIOGEST)
BIOGEST was a research project funded by the European Union in the framework of ENVIRONMENT & CLIMATE programme and ELOISE (European Land Ocean Interactions Studies, contract n°ENV4-CT96-0213, 1996-1999) projects network. The aim of BIOGEST was to understand the distribution of biogases in surface water of European estuaries and to quantify related atmospheric exchanges.

Wind Energy - Polish wind turbine market
The Polish Wind Energy Association is a non – governmental organization established in 1999 (formerly known as „VIS VENTI Association for Supporting Wind Energy”). The Association acts on the basis of the Associations Act.

The Association has been established by a group of people interested in implementation of wind power technologies in Poland. It is one of the most effective organizations lobbying for creation of a suitable legal framework allowing for development and operation of renewable energy sources in Poland, in particular of wind power.

The Association gathers leading companies active on the wind power market in Poland: investors, developers, turbine and components manufacturers, both from Poland and abroad
